Fillet brazing and components say it is a Sports Tourer, whether by its paint or the catalog, it "should" be or not. You'll probably never know why it was painted a Varsity blue.
Maserati in the background looks solid. When you do post photos would you shoot the underside of the bottom bracket, the stay/seat tube cluster, and the stay bridges please? Is there any serial number?
And this thread might garner more attention over on the regular C&V forum, as you're not really curious as to value here, are you?

The sports Tourer is a 1974 model with a frame SS# that was made 1973 the color would be Opaque Blue. Some Schwiinn frame SS# often predate the the model final by 1-2 years

Thanks for replies.
I am interested in an evaluation too. On eBay they sold from 150 to 500$.
I wish to sell at least the big frame bike, at which I am working now.
I have a thread about the Maserati, around here, I will post there some pictures and the serial number.

The first one (Opaque Blue) is a '72 and the second one (Sky Blue) is a '75 model. Where you went wrong is assuming that the serial number indicates when the bike was made. For the fillet-brazed models like the Sports Tourer Schwinn stamped the head tubes up to 6 years in advance of building the bikes, the serial number only indicates when the tube was stamped (before even being brazed to the frame). To date them you have to go by the paint colors and components on the bike, assuming they are original of course.

I sold a very pristine one in a smaller size last year, looked nearly NOS. Paint and decals were flawless. All original parts were there. Price was slightly higher than your price range above.
