Schwinn Prelude
I have a Schwinn Prelude, that have a Chicago tag on the front of the bike. Serial number is K741526 how do you read that serial number. And how much is the bike worth. No rust and even have the original seat.

Check the read first posting for valuation questions.
Chicago head badge does not mean made in Chicago, as the plant was closed several years before bike was made.
On Schwinn serial numbers, I just use the four digit date code on the head badge instead of bothering with serial numbers. Exact age of the bike has no bearing on its value, its all about condition.

Those were built in Taiwan in the late 80's. It had Columbus Tenax main tubes. The original seat should be suede.
I had one for a while, it was nice. I would have kept it if it were my size.
Impossible to judge the value without seeing the bike. Too many variables.

Actually most or all of the Tenax bikes were done in Greenville.
