What is the value of an old bike?
I have an old Masi that i wont to sell. But how do i know i get a correct price?

2. Where you live, about €150 from what I can see on the pictures.
3. You need to take pictures of the drive-side of the bike to get a good valuation.
4. Even better if you can list the brand and type of each component.

Hello Gert, welcome to the forums. it is a great lookig bike any idea of the year or the type of frame materiel? please list everything you can about the bike. Masi has a bit of a following here in the states but I am not sure about Belgium. can you post some better pics maybe pics of the drive train parts?

Masi didn't commonly use tubing decals, and it's highly unlikely there's one on that bike. It's a Prestige circa mid-late-80's. It would be useful to see a good shot of the headbadge decal and the top of the fork crown. It's certainly very good quality tubing, I'd say odds-on it's Columbus.

The bike appears to be in fine shape. Too small for me, but if it were my size, in similar condition, I'd be interested. I like the detailing on the brake bridge, the seat stays, etc. Adds a touch of class. Are those Shimano Sora shifters? I see the Campy brakes, but the shifters look like Shimano STI to me.

To get most value out of it, you probably need to disassemble it and put the good parts (frame, Campagnolo brakes, maybe other components) on eBay (.com or .co.uk). It's a lot of hassle, pictures to take, fees to pay, questions to answer, then pack and ship wherever it sells. Set a reserve so you don't get burned and enquire about shipping before you start the auction. Second best would be to put it on Kapaza, 2ehands and the like and see what comes up. Or try to find a buyer here....

From the downtube transfer I think its before the mid 80's, wild guess w/o looking at the crown, '82. A bike of this period will bring best value with Full Campagnolo, forget the functional aspects. It appears to be a 53 to 54 cm, Masi measure. The frame size will be stamped under the bottom bracket, there may also be a date code in smaller stamped numbers.
Unless the original components can be returned, it will bring the best price in parts. frame/fork/headset, maybe the bottom bracket as a set, and the balance a la carte.

But are you sure that cast bridge would have been from that early? I have an '81 that doesn't have it. I thought that bridge was circa '85, but I'm far from certain of that.

Mid 80's would indeed have that bridge, the graphics push it earlier, the fork crown strategically blocked by the handlebar would help. The Bottom bracket stamps will be the most help if they can be read.
