Schwinn super leTour 12.2 Chrome
I Have the chance to buy a bike but can not find the value of it and I was hoping some of the experts on this site may help as I really like this bike but cant find much info on it.. It is a one owner all original , used very little and in very nice shape Schwinn letour 12.2 .. The whole frame is chrome. the badge says 1167 as the manufacture date . It is equipped with shimano 600 derailers and all the original equiptment as far as I know... Any one know the value of this bike or what is a fair price to pay ..
Thank You

From the assembly date code, it's a '77 model year. These are pretty sweet bikes with double-butted chromoly top and down tubes. The stays and fork are 1020 carbon steel. The all-chrome version is particularly desirable. They were built by Panasonic in Japan for Schwinn.
If it fits you and is in good shape (chrome not pitted or peeling, no dents, and neither the stem nor seatpost are stuck), it's worth the asking price.

+1. 250-350 is what I would ask for one, assuming good shape. We'd really need some pics to be sure.

If it was in great condition and a 25 inch frame I would have the $250 in hand before the seller changed their mind.
I don't think I would even consider offering less - just pay them and take it home.
I have a '77 LeTour 12.2 in Scarlet. Although not one of my most expensive bikes, it may be my favorite. I'm old and a little over weight, and still average above 17 mph on the Dayton Ohio bike trails with the bike. Can't say enough about them.
I did upgrade the wheels to very nice wheel set using sealed hubs (period correct) with Mavic Open Pro rims. (I have the originals.) It is amazing when you put a great wheel set on a great steel frame, the ride is sweet.
