Someone Please Buy This Bike
I have four or five LeTours and would like to make a nice donation to my retirement fund.

1) You can advertise it in the classic and vintage "for sale" section, but not here. There is also a for sale section in the general forums.
2) Bike is seriously overpriced. Dunno if you're fishing for offers (looks like you've had plenty of them), but a letour isn't worth anything near 1100$ (950+150 shipping). That's Paramount teritory. If you've gotten any offers close to 300, jump on them; that is still way, way high. Letours run around 150-200 tops, even in fantastic condition. You can ask this much, but it won't sell at that price. When you start moving into the higher price ranges, your buyers are way more informed, and probably not looking for LeTours.

Wow, BBC has a competitor!!!!
A closer look at the seller shows a high volume, full time ebay'r. Seller has over 2,300 items posted right now, WOW!!! This is their only bike, and they are just confused on value. Seller moves a lot of jewelry.
They'll probably come down eventually, although shipping alone exceeds value of the bike.

$950 Really?

After seeing that I don't feel so bad asking $800 plus 125 pack and ship for this

I assumed the latter.

I think the seller falls into the "crack don't smoke itself" category.
In what bizarre alternate reality is any LeTour worth more than a couple hundred bucks?

No - I'm not the seller.
I thought it was apparent the post was in fun.
I did forget to put the happy face guy at the end of the post - my bad.

BTW - I do own a bunch of Le Tours, like and appreciate them.
My '77 12.2 may be my favorite bike - I love friction shifters - go figure.
I have paid the max of $110 for the bikes. Most were under $100.

I just rebuilt a Letour for my niece.
Found it at a garage sale last fall for $25.
Still had the original nubs on the tires.
She wanted a rack, straight bars and fenders.
It is now on its way to Lewis and Clark College in the Portland area where she goes to school.
I think we were into the shiny red LeTour for about $60 after I scrounged the parts of the shelves here.
Should be just fine for campus life.

The blue Schwinn was sold for $120 to that ebay guy.
The red Schwinn was sold for $340 or so to the same fellow. He stripped it of a nice bag(sold $49) and light set (sold $149).
He told my daughter he was going to keep the red bike and hang it on the wall.
He drove to the house and picked them up...Sarah was happy as could be
I won't show her the ebay prices lol
He bought the red bike in a no reserve ebay auction, when he listed it on ebay, he pasted Sarah's exact auction description to his sale.
She just picked up a nice 1988 yellow Trek 360.... should be worth about $1500 lol
