FS: Raphael Geminiani frame

I have for sale this Raphael Geminiani Special frame. It is from the early 60's. Geminiani frames were made by Mercier. The frame is 58cm ctc seat tube and 58cm ctc top tube. It is built from Reynolds 531 tubing and has Nervex lugs and bottom bracket. Old style Simplex dropouts. Frame pump pegs on bottom of top tube. No braze ons. All threading is French. The frame is in good basic shape and has no dents or dings. It has a fair bit of surface rust on the chrome and an attempt was made to remove the chrome on the forks leaving the nickle plating and some copper plating visible. Paint is actually not too bad but pretty dirty and stained. The decals are fair and the headbadge is in decent shape but faded. Asking $200 plus actual shipping costs (by BikeFlight). Payment by Paypal "friends and family" payment.

Very good basis for 650b conversion, and probably a very nice 700c rider, as well.

I don't know about a Mercier connection, but I have a Gitane (late-50s, I think) which is a near-twin of this, including the distinctive rear stay cap decoration.

I know this is an old post, but I'm wondering if you ever sold this frame or happen to know what differentiated the RG Special from other models?

These frames were built by Micmo and badged as both Gitanes and Geminianis.
Aimplex dropouts suggest it equates to a Champion du Monde.

@rmfrance That is very helpful information. Thank you very much. I have a Geminiani frame very similar to the one you had up for sale, The only difference that I can see is that yours was a different size and my drop outs are Campagnolo (does that still equate to Champion du Monde??). Researching Geminiani bikes is very difficult here in the US, as not many were imported. I know for certain that mine arrived here in the US in 1962 or earlier. I thought my frame was manufactured by Gitane/MICMO and badged as Geminiani, but, if I understand you correctly, you are saying these frames were manufactured by Mercier for MICMO and badged as either Gitanes or Geminianis. Do I understand this correctly? Again, any help with these questions is very much appreciated.
