Local pick up only?

HI. Is it worth posting a complete bike, local pick up only? Is this kosher to do in this forum?
Is it common? I have a Raleigh Competition, beautiful/complete/ original, but I don't have the ability or desire to try and ship it. Please advise.
FYI The boss has advised its time to "sell some of these freakin' bikes". She thinks this is too many, please.

Absolutely - you paid your dues...

That said, it might be tough unless there's a member your size in your town with a hankering for one.

Now if the Mooney was up...

I am near Hartford CT. Not a hot-bed for vintage bikes, but Boston and NYC are 2 hours away....

Good to know. I have some frames or even bikes to move, but would rather not ship. I would be willing to drive up to 1.5 hours from central SC to meet up.

Where is "here"? If the buyer is willing to arrange transport (get some facilitation help from another forum member, or find a local shop willing to box and ship), I see no reason not to list it.

Not sure if you want to sell on eBay...but you could also list it there for Local Pickup Only...maybe a bit broader audience...

I'd post that bike in the Boston CL; it will sell fast there is my guess.

Correct, local pick-up only ads are completely kosher.

You'll never know, if they want it, they'll travel or maybe even pay for it to be boxed up and shipped given you're willing to make the sale.

If you can drop it off at a local shop, they will take it from there. You can ask the buyer to coordinate & pay.

It's kosher, and I've looked at your pics, and if I lived in your area I would have bought it already.

But I understand not shipping. I have several bikes I really should list on eBay, but haven't for that reason.
