Bikes: (2) ti TiCycles, 2007 w/ triple and 2011 fixed, 1979 Peter Mooney, ~1983 Trek 420 now fixed and ~1973 Raleigh Carlton Competition gravel grinder

I see 32 (count 'em) spokes on each wheel. Anyone know what those rims weigh? And - can that freehub take a Campy 9-speed cassette? (Yes to that last and I am very interested.)

Spoke count trick - sight down the parallel spokes at the valve. Are there matching parallel spokes at the label or are they crossed. Matching - even number of pairs per side, ie 24, 32 or 40 spokes. Not matching - 28, 36,

They can't be the same spoke count. Is one 32 and the other 36?

Isn't that photo the OP's wheels? I took the ancient approach (yes, I know, pre-digital and not to be trusted for one second) and simply counted them. 32 and 32.

I have recently learned, the hard way, that the 7 speed cassette will also fit the 8 speed. 9-speed is a different key-way.

At the catalogue 395gms for the rim only. Add 1.52gms per eyelet for tubular rims… so 444gms more or less for 32h Lambda Strada tubular…

Amazing how some of the Campagnolo trivia remains unforgotten 35 years later. Not the actual weights, just that rims and eyelets were listed separately, had to look up the actual figures…

slow with a capitol S, unfortunately. I'm acquiring and setting aside parts but... that's about it for now. I'm still on the hunt for one that's more my size. I'll see how it goes.

8 speed would still have the oil clips if Record I think. I thought they disappeared on the 9 speed.

Not a freewheel, it is a cassette and not a Record cassette,
9 speed record had the clip too. If no clip then likely Chorus or lower.
VeloBase.com - Component: Campagnolo Record Exa-Drive 9-speed

Well, I am not sure about Chorus not having clips.
VeloBase.com - Component: Campagnolo FH-00CH / HB-00CH, Chorus

Depends on the year and configuration, maybe freewheel Chorus is without clips.
