Hi Aaron , not all the Galmozzi fork crown are like yours ,

Mr. Galmozzi has used various types of fork crown and different types of lugs during his time

Hi Slotcar I have a question I wonder if you can help with.
I have a frame similar to the black one here it is marked Gamozzi and the paint looks old - do you know if there is any way I can find the original paint codes or colours used on Galmozzi's. The colour on this frame is a kind of metallic pink which has faded

Hi [MENTION=428627]mannylima[/MENTION] , welcome to the forum. Over time I have spent probably way too much time googling for Galmozzi images to try to get a feel for years and colors. What I have found is a lot more respreyed examples than original examples and a lot of colors, however some appear more often than others. I have seen original images of metalic silver, metalic champaign, bright red, wine red, bright blue, black and a few others. I have not seen a metallic pink. Please post some pictures so we can help enjoy your Galmozzi. I would also love to hear any opinions about colors and history. The easy to find Galmozzi info is pretty limited. I really appreciate the input from [MENTION=123967]slotcar55[/MENTION] . My Galmozzi is stripped, primed and patiently waiting for me to make the time to spray it.

I'm sorry I think it will be almost impossible, Angelo Galmozzi has virtually lost everything, the only possibility that remains is to find the original and redo the most precisely as possible

[MENTION=428627]mannylima[/MENTION] That's a beautiful bike! Do you know the history of it? I would guess it is early 80s. I have never seen a pix of one with that bottom bracket or brake guides under the top tube. Also the seat stay cap on yours is not quite as long as mine. The only BBs I have seen have 7 holes. I can't say that I have ever seen any pix of an 80s Galmozzi and wouldn't know any characteristic build changes that may have occurred in the 80s. I think I read that Angelo stopped building in the mid 80's. I'm sure [MENTION=123967]slotcar55[/MENTION] would know more.

I really like this bike and the Cinelli 1R old log with Criterium handlebars. I have the same set up on one of my bikes. just perfect.

Hi peugeot mongrel and cyclotoine, many thanks for your comments. I do not intend to repaint the frame but had wondered whether there was any way to establish whether pink was the original colour. I haven't seen others so was unsure, but will not change regardless. There is also a longish scratch through to bare metal on one fork as a result of carelessness in a bike shop. I was going to try and get this blended over a bit (and thought paint codes could help) but perhaps even the marks without a heroic story are best left as is.
I don't know much history of it, I was told it was owned by an old Italian gentleman who had many bikes but that's about it, it came with decaying old tubs and looked like it hadn't been ridden for quite some time but the components were all in good condition. I don't think Galmozzi is known in the UK.
I have only seen one other bike with the two slots rather than the petal holes in the bottom bracket:

I have not seen brake guides below the top tube either, probably you are right it is 80s but I don't know, I await any clarification
I joined this forum to learn a bit more, even in Italy I have been told a few conflicting things, one guy swore it was a 60s de rosa
