Best 27" clinchers for classic restoration

I am in the process of restoring a 74 Paramount.
Got Sun CR18 rims but still need tires.
Looks like Paselas are fairly popular but are there any other options?
Not that I don't like them, just want to consider others as well.

Thanks,
GS

Since I was introduced to the Pasela tires, they have been my go to skin wall tire. I see that Schwalbe make a skin wall 27" too.

If you don't desire skin or tan side walls, Continental make black side wall 27" tires.

Bikes: Too many to list here check my signature.

I don't see any reason not to use the Pasela unless you want something cheaper for a flip.

Bikes: are fun!

It's been a while since I've used them, but I remember liking the ride of Vittoria Zaffiro Pro II over pasela.

Pasela Tour Gaurds (27") on my '71 P13. The look is a near match for the originals.

I'm actually surprised to see the Schwalbe-

I guess I'm just so blinded by the glory of the Pasela TG (or PT) that I haven't seen them.

Any reviews on how these compare to Paselas?

I have the tan wall Pasela TourGuard (or ProtectionTecnology or whatever now) on all my 27" and 700C bikes.

I like Zaffiros, a sportier ride, but my experience is they are a PITA to mount. No experience with the Pro II.

Another vote for Zaffiros, the ride is more like smooth, fast 700s. Alas, the look is hardly vintage. I don't' believe the "pro" is available in 27 any longer. If you look at the Vittoria website you get the impression they are phasing out their 27" tires.

Nigara cycle still carries the Zaffiro, but they are blackwall only. Tires & Tubes - Tires - 27" - Niagara Cycle

I've had some 27" Kenda go squiggly from the casing weakening. Not entirely sure what happened, but it happened to both. Maybe a bad batch? Same thing actually happened to one of my 23c Paselas too. Maybe it's me? I've been running a Pasela and a Cheng Shin (the Kendas went squiggly at different times) on the bike with 27" and so far solid performance.

I live in Mexico and most of the time I have to settle for whatever the locals shops carry. I got some pretty nice Elimin8er 27x1-1/4 tires a while back, although they are blackwall. For my latest build all they had in 27" were some Deli's (Indonesia), but they only cost about $12 (a pair!) and have tan sidewalls. Pasela's are nice but not for any kind of heavy duty use-- the sidewalls are rather delicate.

Had the same thing with 2 Kendas both on the rear. I thought the same thing about a bad batch. So far I have had no problems with the Paselas.
