Anyone familiar with Ghisallo brand bikes?

My Google-fu has failed again. Wondering if maybe department store brand?

name best known as a maker of wood rims for use with tubular tyres.

https://www.cerchiinlegnoghisallo.com/home.php

it is a place name associated with a sanctuary:

https://www.viagginbici.com/week-end-...la-bicicletta/

could be a machine sold by Walt Ellsworth of Phoenix AZ:

here is one more:

And to see how they make their wooden wheels, check out the videos on you tube, starting with this one.

thanks for the picture. she looks like she may be a contract build ca. 1972 or so. omg chainset, sheffield pedals, balilla brakes, velox rear mech, valentino front mech. suspect head may be bulge-formed but not enough res in photo to tell for sure. do skewers say gnutti, campag or nervex? hubs look to be unmarked gnutti. are dropouts marked? if marked, likely campag sport. if not marked likely agrati. chance tubing may be some form of quality plain gauge such as zeta or z50. are there remains of a tubing transfer on seat tube?

Have not seen it yet in person, so not sure. I was wondering about the components. Thanks for identifying the parts. I suspected it was a 70s era bike, based on the clamp-on bits and the cottered cranks.

I believe there is some association between Ghisallo bicycles and a church in Italy. They are decidedly not a department store quality maker. I believe Citoyen du Monde may be able to provide much more information.

I saw that bike on CL. Asked myself about it. Won't be going for it but was slightly tempted.

liked the colour. Seller has claimed a 21" frame but they know squat about comp. they know it's from Italy.

It's intriguing, for sure, and it would get me into the "what bike do you have that no one else has" club, as well as the Molteni orange club, but it may be gone before I could get there. Also, I'm not sure I want to get into cottered cranks.

What do you think of the $120 price?

Colour great, marque mostly unheard of, frame looks good quality, comp... Cotters no worry and look classy, brakes Balila center pulls good, Drs lacking mucho but low Campy. Bars HB unknown. Headset as someone mentioned Agasti or such good. Wheels interesting and prob Gnutti. So..

Offer 75 to 90 and see what he counters with. Frame is the main thing better if it's your ideal size.

I would be jealous if you got it. 22 is my size.

Heard from the contemporary Ghisallo company. They made no bikes in the 70s. But they asked for a photo!

Here's a weird thought… could it be Belgian with an Italian label? Any indications re: dropouts, etc?

The Madonna del Ghisallo is considered to be the patron saint of cyclists, hence the reason that chapel is filled with bicycles and right next to the chapel there is a bicycle museum. I truly doubt that an Italian would use the name Ghisallo for a bicycle brand as it smacks of immorality. The rim company has every right to use the name because they are located a stone throw away from the chapel. Just to confirm my hunch, I asked a few people in Italy and they all said that it would be very gauche to name a bicycle brand Ghisallo (even if they all agreed that naming a model, especially a hill climbing bike very appropriate).
