Hey, sometimes you just wanna shift without it sounding like an non-synchronized truck transmission.

Bikes: It's complicated.

I'm just now seeing this thread.

In my memories, the best riding bike I ever owned was a first gen carbon fiber Specialized Allez. If the damn down tube hadn't separated from the bottom bracket, I might never have spoken "steel is real".

Bikes: Lots of French, some British and a couple of Italian

I bought a very lovely 70s mixte for my SO. She's not a cyclist so I tried to lighten it for her by taking some things off, despite it being completely original. I realised afterwards, she wouldn't have noticed the slightest bit of difference, and the bits I removed have gone by the wayside.

I'm so annoyed/embarrassed with myself about it that I've never posted it on the forum.

I have to confess that I was helping answer a question in Bike Mechanics and found myself lusting after Dura-Ace 11-speed cassettes.

Forgive me, for I have sinned.

How so? Mind yer own beeswax.

Bikes: Too many to list in this particular space...

I"ve lusted for a Schwinn Town and Country trike for decades. Must have one with a diff and 3 speeds (as I'm a vehicle mechanical engineering geek and that is ME cycling geekiness)...

I don't care if it weighs 65 pounds.

I wonder if I could come up with Positraction for it?
