Or try and get the derailleur as intended

Couldn't it have been made for a non-campy derailleur and he removed the cable stop to use one?

Lots of learning on this thread...watching with fascination as two true experts work out some of the ideas/kinks/versions that this bike could take...very cool!!!!!

Well this ended up purdy. It's a shame they hacked up a first gen bronze derailleur, but that's why they're valuable.
