'70s campy brake lever differences

when i started building bikes five years ago, i didn't appreciate non-aero, period correct levers like i do now. i put modern aero levers on my first four builds, including two of my keepers, the '76 g.record and '73 falcon sr. now, i'm working on correcting this issue that has really started buggin' me. so i bought some nuovo record levers for one of the bikes, and i might have a lead on some nuovo gran sport levers for the other (thinking i can save some money). here are pics of the gran sport levers from velobase:

here are the nuovo record levers:

q: while using the gran sports, will i be able to tell a difference between them and the nuovo records that will cause any regret for not buying another set of record levers?

Bikes: Anything with a full record group.

The only differences are aesthetic, but they are essentially the same thing. I prefer the super record levers myself as they have the drillium look.

record levers were changed about 1976 to reduce the reach. the ones shown in your photos looks short reach to this naked eye.

aesthetics ... yeah, the outlined 'campagnolo' is defintely more appealing on the record levers.

i wonder how accurate is the weight difference of 30 grams shown on velobase.

ok. so ... they're basically the same...

.

this idea to change back to non-aeros on those first builds of mine was sealed recently when i built up the mondia:

these record levers have their original anodization, which a forum member recently wrote is so much prettier than deanodized/polished ones. yeah, i agree. they have a beautiful sheen.

the non-drilled ones look more elegant to me. [ducks.]
