And for grins, somewhere I have Suntour brand dt shift levers that have a beautiful decorative casting. The perimeter of the levers are of an intricate bicycle chain! Its really wild as one doesn't notice it until you look super close.

I paid a little extra for an IRD 991 hollow-pin chain, since I was convinced that it's very important for a 200lb cyclist on a 24lb bike to lose 1.8 grams of weight. What they don't tell you is those holes fill up with about 1.9 grams worth of dirt and crud on your first couple rides.

Here's the Sedis/Sachs narrow silver chain installed on my last build:
I was really surprised how well it works on my 6 speed drivetrain as I only used these narrow chains o 7 speeds. I also like very much how the Sedis silver chains are actually more like nickel colored. I prefer its looks over the more silvery and chromey looking chains from other manufacturers. This particular Sedis/Sach chain notes on its box that it is corrosion proof. I bought an identical chain a few years ago for my Vitus Carbone that was surprisingly packaged as a Campagnolo Chain.

This bike has a very shiny Sunrace 8s chain, which requires no special links or pins to connect. It's got just a few hundred miles on it so far, and shifts in a quiet, very forgiving way I have to say.
I spent a lot of time working on this today, finally ridding the hard-ridden bike of the plastic derailer with which I had issues.
I ditched the Prestige mech only because it kept getting hesitant about finding the tallest gear, and because it's low-limit stop was disturbingly rubbery in it's effect. All better now!

HKK Ultra 6 just installed out of a 35+yr old parts box. Chain is like new. Here, it finds a home on my '76 Fuji The Finest. Makes a great addition to the build when you consider Fuji used these chains back in the day. Oh, and the chainstay is fine. It's a reflection off the chrome.
