I'm baaaaaack - just passed my addy to Tim, so should be seeing the box early next week. Thought about passing off the box hand-to-hand over in PT, but I still don't have an available, trustworthy Sacha-watcher just yet :( I do, however, hope to have that situation rectified in the next couple weeks.

I don't have a lot of crap for this go-around, but I do have a few interesting things to put in the box. Does a POC simply have to be bike-related? If so, I got lots of weird things to put in this box (even a vintage Matchbox car or two) ;)

Hey, you're Crapmaster Emeritus, lots of leeway in interpreting the rules! But, since you asked, the Supreme Soviet of Crapteria has reviewed the rules and noted that lack any reference to bikes, bicycles, or anything C&V related. One could replace all of the contents with baseball cards of Alex Rodriguez, (which would clearly fit the definition of crap) and fully within spec.

On the other hand, rule 11 would probably rule out Alex Rodriguez baseball cards...

I read this as: "you used to enforce the rules, so now you can bend them" :)

Someone will benefit from said bending. While I won't have a ton of bike parts this go-around, there will be a number of bike-related things I'm sure will be of interest to somebody - maybe even several somebodies.

Looking forward to the Box. I haven't been on the receiving end for a long, long time!

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Unfortunately, there has arisen some unforeseen drama in my personal life and will not be able forward the box to the next recipient until I damn well feel like it, which basically means never. (How does never sound? Does never work for you?) However, you will be happy to note that I WILL have plenty of time to post long-winded, bloviating opinions based on my own extremely narrow point of view, pulled directly from my copious posterior and stating these as FACT that you'd happily acknowledge if you yourself weren't so blindingly stupid argle bargle bargle blah blah blah...

(JK, I have DD's address and will likely ship Wed.)

No problem as long as you vow not to mention Cannondale or Grant Petersen or Brooks saddles and your numb willy.

[laughs]
Ebby Calvin LaLoosh: [softly, infuriated] I held it like an egg.
Crash Davis: Yeah, and he scrambled the son of a *****. Look at that, he hit the ****ing bull! Guy gets a free steak!
[laughs]
Crash Davis: You having fun yet?
Ebby Calvin LaLoosh: Oh, yeah. Havin' a blast.
Crash Davis: Good.
Ebby Calvin LaLoosh: [pause] God, that sucker teed off on that like he knew I was gonna throw a fastball!
Crash Davis: He did know.
Ebby Calvin LaLoosh: How?
Crash Davis: I told him.

I predict this will go down as the longest schtick in C&V Forum history...

Watch it back to back with Slap Stick.

And a case of beer.

My bad, I thought it was dense enough that nothing could shift. Please send me a bill for any damages.

Narhay 01-25-16 11:55 PM

Seems like the box is not getting emptier nor is it getting bigger before it gets to me. You guys will have to step it up if my colnago is to fit.

Agreed - and I'm not a baseball fan by any stretch of the imagination :)

OK, here's my take:
http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...DSCF0100_3.jpg

Lots of cool crap in this box, much of it of a somewhat higher grade than in a few rounds previous. There is also some utter crap, so a suggestion to the next folks in line, if you need to trash some of it to put in something really cool you just have to move along, I think your down-lines will thank you. All of the crap I added was pretty compact, so I resisted the urge myself this time.

Will pass it on to DrilliumDude in tomorrow's post. The corners of the box have been reinforced and it should be fine for another two or three trips at least. Whomever tosses the current box (when it comes to that) please take a few minutes to follow my example for maximum crap-handling safety. :)

Drillium Dude 01-26-16 06:09 PM

Kewl - I'll be on the lookout for it in a day or so. I don't have much, but it's interesting :)

Probably not going to take anything out (I just don't need anything - unless someone stuck a near-NOS pair of Barelli pedals in there), but I'll clear out some of the crappiest crap to fit in some of my good stuff if need be.

Tim, is that aluminum polish in the Conti box?

DD

Lascauxcaveman 01-27-16 11:01 AM

"Schlauchreifenkitt ALUMINUM"

(tubie rim glue, but not for carbon wheels, apparently)
