Damn, I've gotta go get me an Ironman...

It's more the triathlete syndnrome. I've seen them change kit right in the parking lot. I took my father-in-law to see a triathlon once. Of course, the first thing he saw was that. He asked me "what's wrong with you people?"

I hear you. I started a small triathlon club in the East (SF) Bay in the early 80's, mainly to meet other crazy distance athletes. I got a call from a fellow who was in charge of running the first all-women's triathlon out of what once Marine World in Redwood City, CA (land since purchased by Oracle, now their WW headquarters). He was looking for someone to be in charge of the transition area, and needed about 8 volunteers. I was working in a bike shop at the time, and when I got the word out we started getting flooded with calls of guys who wanted to volunteer.

Race day I had an army of over 40 guys ready to help out. There was a changing tent. Triathlon kit hadn't been figured out, so you had a mismatch of just about everything (as you probably remember). As each woman got out of the water, we had enough guys to have personal ******* right to their bike so they wouldn't "get lost". Manyof them just asked their escort to hold a towel up for them, and did what, apparently, triathletes are still doing to this day.

I coulda charged most of these guys to volunteer. Many told me it was the greatest day of their life.

Step right up, folks, and join the Box o' Crap gang! Your foreign language skills will improve immensely, titillating stories are here for the reading, hilarious stories involving clipless pedals are told.

Like a baseball announcer filling air space in between batters, we eagerly await a report of the thud on the doorstep, where matters of greater import, barely beyond borked bike parts are pictured, and cat toys are always appreciated.

Loving these stories!

In the meantime, tracking information tells me there was a thud on someone's porch today. :)

Con pedales plataformas, el problem que puede ser presentado es que los pedales giran demasiado rapido y los pies no pueden mantener contacto. Por eso, algunas personals utilizan clips para quedar el pie en contacto con el pedal.

With platform pedals, the problem can be presented is that the pedals spin too fast and feet can not keep in touch. Therefore, some clips to be used personals foot in contact with the pedal

More-or-less. Someone mentioned learning new languages, so I thought I'd pitch in.

Bueno!

When I saw the Sith characters, I was convinced that YogaKat added them to the BOC!

If that were the case, I would have had to have duplicates. :p

Things are a little quiet here. A little too quiet. Jonesing for some crap.....

degan, whazzup?

Lascauxcaveman 03-05-16 03:07 PM

Yeah, degan, it's been billions and billions of years...

seedsbelize 03-05-16 04:40 PM

C'mon degan, we're holding our collective breath here. Billions more years have passed since unfrozen caveman lawyer's post.

BluesDaddy 03-05-16 05:40 PM

What the heck is it about a box of crap.

It's interesting how the time space continuum works in the BOC universe.

Maybe it's all the hearts that my daughter drew all over the box that slowed down the unveiling...

mountaindave 03-06-16 05:41 PM

We're all into checking out each other's crap.

Senior Ryder 00 03-07-16 04:44 PM

Hi gang,

I'm a relative newbie here and don't have enough posts to join the party, but certainly enjoy the "crappy"
dialog.

By-the-way, on the clip vs clipless issues: Over the years, I've fallen over with both setups. Once dumped a Santana tandem with the wife on the back. ..and we're still married!

Cheers,

Van
