The holidays are over, the post office is open, the box o' crap is on its way.
I was surprised that I solved the Tetris puzzle on the first try, then realized I had some left over pieces... There was no way the water bottle was going to fit back in the box so its contents filled some nooks and crannies. These little bikes were inside and seemed too fragile to throw in the box, so they'll go on my shelf. Not sure about actually drinking out of the water bottle, but it has "Bob's Trail" displayed, so that'll go on a shelf as well. http://i.imgur.com/FtCxIuJ.jpg?1 ^What's the story on this by the way? http://i.imgur.com/KaQov0H.jpg?1 |
I'm afraid I don't recall where that bottle came from. Saw it sitting on the shelf of my office and decided to include it. Those mini bikes were an eBay find some years back. You think that Bridgestone is from the G. Petersen era?
|
Those little tiny bikes weren't in there when it came down Arizona way... very cool. :)

I was surprised to not see too many repeats from when I last had the box a few months ago. |
Some crap is fleeting; other crap is enduring. All crap travels in USPS priority mail boxes.

A question comes to mind.
Did the Scots ever make any bicycle parts or accessories? I'm fairly certain there were/are bicycle manufacturers or framebuilders out of Scotland, but were there ever any small part manufacturers? |
Peat's Precision Products?
Maybe not so precise... --- If you have to explain a joke... http://i.imgur.com/bSUksBo.jpg?1 |

^Aye!!
A while back I found a neat video on YouTube of a cycle-tourist in Scotland, maybe around the '70s if remembering correctly. Will see if I can find it later. |
They certainly made plenty of shotguns, which have small parts.

A couple of disappointments today.
Firstly, and most importantly, the BOC was expected today, but it was a no-show. Secondly, the FD I had ordered so that I could FINALLY complete my Giant Iguana extreme makeover project arrived, but... instead of it being a top-pull (like I needed, and was certain I had ordered), it was a bottom-pull. So... another several days of waiting while the right one gets sent. As a consolation though, was the arrival of the Brooks Team Professional in Ochre - which recovered from ridiculous routing by USPS to still somehow make it here today. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/613/3...f08fc74a_m.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/571/3...fda4b6d7_m.jpg Here's hoping that the BOC arrives tomorrow. |
That is odd. I've found usps estimated deliv. dates to be accurate in the past. Looks like BoC didn't leave Springfield, MA until 3:53 this am.

USPS has perfected the time warp. The box has landed. Pictures to follow.

The obligatory tease shots. Sir Name got a bit creative in a way that I feel is worth sharing:
https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/272/31...c13a9d20_b.jpg The opening... yep, the art is slowly deteriorating, but it is becoming quite the tradition: https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/459/32...629893be_b.jpg I'm very thankful to whomever put in the Stronglight crankset and rings. I've been shopping for these online and have been feeling despair at the lack of arms that are in good condition, and for rings in any state that fit the BCD. I have an upcoming single-speed project that these will be perfect for. (2nd photo - frame and fork should be on the way here soon) The patch is going to give character to a bag that I'm in the market for. The "three speeds is all you need" micro-button will find a place on the Clubman I'm building as a 4-speed, and the brake levers and pads will help me move projects forward also. https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/416/31...171a39e8_b.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/275/32...de7b76e2_b.jpg |

Sadly, I cannot take credit for the packaging declarations/markings. The box was in good enough shape to reuse.
Beautiful Viking, I was ogling that crankset when it came through. The Box O' Crap pays off! |
BOC is on the move. The USPS lady says expected in Ohio on Wednesday.
Oh mighty Crapmaster - I am now MR3. |

I'll be watching for the mail tomorrow. :)
Still waiting on RaleighSport to send me an address. |

BOC arrived on schedule, pics to follow later today when I get home from work.
I still haven't heard from RaleighSport . There is a lot of crap in the box. It will be a challenge to get it all back in. I didn't weigh it, but it feels like 20+ pounds. |

Go Figure, Ben |
I know I am a little late for the Wienermobile pin, but life is full of these little disappointments. Last summer we met up with one of them by chance in Ocean City, NJ.
http://i931.photobucket.com/albums/a...psxro5lzyt.jpg Oh great and wise gugie, please add me to the list for my second tour of doodie. |
