Why was my thread deleted?

A few weeks ago I started a thread about a purchase of a
a mid 80's Georgena Terry Symmetry bike, that I had purchased for my wife.
There were mostly positive responses to the thread, people seemed to like the bike.

But just now I went to post some photos of the rack and fenders I did for the bike,
for someones future reference.

But I find the thread was deleted. What rule was violated?

Any way here is my rack and fender project, it was not simple on that little bike.
I think they came out nice.

The shaping is very good. Is it possible to bring the front lower stay up so that is parallel with the ground?

I agree they look better, when the stays are parallel to the ground.

That front fender is a fender for a 27" wheel that was bent around to fit the little 24" wheel.
I added a second stay so the fender keeps a nice round shape.

That is the first asymmetrical bike I've ever seen... It looks odd...

The search function is notoriously spotty. I generally don't prefer racks with curved stays like that but it actually looks okay on that bike.

Agree but it looks less so to me because I remember when Terry bikes were first sold. It looked odd then too but it was probably one of the few "nods" towards the performance needs of women.

There seems to be a hole in the search function, where stuff that's more a few days old, but less than around 3-4 weeks old, simply doesn't appear on it. I think this is what happened to the OP's thread, as obviously, nobody would have deleted a useful thread about an interesting older bike.

Because the gears back then didn't go to 11 they had to keep the big back wheel , now both wheels can be smaller

smaller front wheel was how to get the top tube short enough and not have Your feet in the front spokes .

Good looking bike! I bet it looks great under your wife. (A "normal" bike under a person of not-normal dimensions looks simply, bad!)

Cale, I like the front fender. If you make the stay horizontal, ie slide the whole fender up and forward, that little flap is now like the similar flap on the standard size Planet Bike fenders, too small and high to stop any real amount of water and keep one's feet dry.

Word of advice - Any time you're looking for a thread you've created:
  1. Click on your username in the top right of any forum page (above the main search)
  2. Click the 'Find Latest Threads' link under your username and pic on the left (see below pic)
An image is worth a thousand words, so here's where the link is I'm talking about inside your profile - it will display every thread you've ever created, which is really helpful when you're updating previous posts... don't rely on search with vBulletin forums.

This makes a lot of sense.
I'll bet that this is what happened.

This is such an active forum, that threads can get buried back quite a few pages after a few days.
I was to lazy to look at all the back pages.

I've noticed the same thing on my profile page searches. Stuff like some posts and threads just don't show up.
