Bikes: they change so much I'm tired of updating this

Olmo

My newly acquired Olmo is finished. Thanks to jeirvine for hooking me up with the correct bottom bracket, and Steve Whitlatch for the levers. I got a really nice deal on the frame set from a great fellow over on the pace line. Swapped all the parts over from a Trek 760 that was to big for me. I have no idea on the year or model and could really care less. Pretty happy with the finished results and looking forward for the weather to warm up. That is if I can hold on to it long enough, right oddjob2?

Nice - and it brings back memories. Same model, same color - my first Italian bike ever. Stolen about 2 years after acquiring, on the Naval Base at Norfolk

Pretty sure that's a Nuovo Super Sprint, with Columbus SL pipes. Can we see a pic of the BB shell cutout?

Bikes: Yes

That is a great color match and a clean look! Doesn't look too cold to ride there.

Ah... So this is the reason I'm piecing together a groupset for a certain Trek 760. Fine then, I'm going DA-7400 anyway

Very nice looking Olmo. The frame looks a lot like a mid-80s Olmo San Remo I have in the queue.

Bikes: Colnago (82, 85, 89, 90, 91, 96, 03), 85 Cinelli, 90 Rossin, 83 Alan, 82 Bianchi, 78 Fountain, 2 x Pinarello, Malvern Star (37), Hillman (70's), 80's Beretto Lo-Pro Track, 80's Kenevans Lo-Pro, Columbus Max (95), DeGrandi (80's) Track.

Clean and understated, those Olmo's are great riding bikes. Very nice indeed.

Nice!

I've got a '82 Olmo Competition... are there a lot of Olmo owners out there? My understanding is that Olmo offered a wide range of bikes, but you don't hear a lot about them.

Looks like a late 1980s Olmo Competition Victory to me.

Looks great Sloar, tight geometry. That should be a keeper!

Not in N. America because Olmos were only imported for awhile in the '80s. Darn shame, too.

Brad

PS While there are several models manufactured by Olmo, it looks like N. America had only the mid to upper range of road bikes.

My first Italian frame was an Olmo that looked exactly like yours. It had Columbus Matrix tubing stickers-- Matrix was later renamed Cromor. I was told it was a "Ligure" model. It rode very nicely but was a bit too small for me.

Beautiful bicycle! I have 2 SL-tubed Olmos, and I'm not sure what models they are either

The Ligure was from the same period but all the samples I've seen were Columbus Matrix/Cromor with Galli Criterium components, not Campagnolo Victory.

The victory components are from a trek 760. I forgot, but mine is a Columbus Matrix frame. I removed the damaged decals when I first got it. Thanks for all the replies.

Bikes: Yes

@koozer-I picked up an old low end wall hanger Olmo. And yes Peter B and I are corresponding :-). Got it on the cheap and am cleaning up and have been doing research. Anyway, I think I came across your post on here and/or the original cl ad that velo something showcased the bike as a rare Sprint Ligure. Appeared exactly like this but larger.

There are others that look similar appear before 85' (without the lines on down tube part of the sticker) and they were listed as Nuovo Sprint.

Edit: on phone and clicking buttons
