C&V Team Jerseys

A C&V team jersey thread.

Here are some of the classics.

1. Which is your favorite?

2. How many of these do you own (including replikit)? 0, 1, 6?

3. If another is your fave, add its picture here.

I have the 7-11 long sleeve pictured above.

I also have a De Rosa/ Alfa Romeo long sleeve jersey.

Probably a pic or two on my Flickr when I get around to looking.

For some reason, this is my fave:

I guess it's the minimalist, black and white. Plus, they rode Colnagos

Hey, I had one of those!

Loved it - should have kept it for display - but I had no DeRosa and it was a bit snug, so I sold it on Ebay when they were going for big money.

You should post a pic so I can re-visit Memory Lane

well, I've got a few Raleigh Team jerseys....

this is a recent reproduction from Descente. Very nice for warm days.

This dates back to the mid 80's. This is the Levi's/Raleigh team that was linked to Micheal's Cyclery and the Skunk River Cyclists. It can be seen in the movie American Flyers.

this one is in team colors, but probably just a generic wool Raleigh jersey. Still looks good, though!

another wool jersey, but I believe it is authentic markings from the Euro squads....

and finally, a jersey from the American/Iowan Skunk River Cyclists team, run by Mike Fatka, back in the early 80's

I got to see the Iron Horse Classic race in Durango, CO in 1982 where this jersey was worn by the SRC team...
You can see one SRC rider in the upper center of the photo below. You can see Jock Boyer slightly to the left and forward of the SRC rider, and Harvey Leonard Nitz to the left. It seemed like there were lots of great riders there!

I also have the long sleeve 7-eleven jersey. Another of my favorite jerseys is the Coors Classic leaders jersey.

I have the Molteni (replica, with bibs, in that super-thin new fabric, a base layer is suggested).

But this is my favorite:

I don't have any of the above depicted, but definitely like the team URSUS and Molteni. The originals seemingly are unobtanium or if lucky to find, extraordinary pricey.

Modern remakes: For one of the girls, I'm working on a replica / tribute LeMond team Z and might have to get her a matching jersey. For another, was thinking getting a team BiC, in orange / white. Kind of neat having available today matching era jerseys.

For myself and through a third party I was able to find an owner of a 1960 team Peugeot jersey. The real deal and rare. Neat survivor. He had a price on it but exceeded the cost of my bike but also too small for true fitted comfort. Decided that isn't going so was happy to find non-team vintage jersey's for pittance ($20 a pop). The basic lines and colors can work as faux livery of which I'm adding period correct vintage patch's. Good enough. Non genuine but at the very least, I can be more selective in proper size and still have a vintage jersey.
