I'd like to find a modern helmet that mirrors the look of the Bell V1 Pro.
I hate the way modern helmets either look like a skateboard helmet,
or something from a bad science fiction movie.

FWIW, in my League of American Bicyclists instructor training, we were told that helmets should no longer be worn when they're more than five years old (and that's why, at least in the U.S. and Canada, they're required to have a date-of-manufacture sticker).
This may well be propaganda from the manufacturers...

Cycletourists Thomas Stevens, Frank Lenz, Kazimierz Nowak, Jim&Elisabeth Young and even Fred Birchmore wore pith helmets back in the day.
Bandbox and Yakkay offer hat-look covers for their helmets.
The Lazer Street Deluxe is offered with a 'wood look' exterior finish. Various outfits have proposed actual cork+wood helmets, but AFAIK the only cat to market them is Coyle-Holz.
The Giro Section was offered in a leather covered exterior a few years back. Their current Caden model (in black) looks vaguely like an old leather hairnet after several beers.
Fun fact: the bowler hat was originally a (equestrian) riding helmet!
