A kickstand would definitely be taking it too far, imo.

Waste of a good bike, IMHO (even though my black Bianchi has minor C-color accents here and there). You asked...

With any color, if you go super matchy-matchy with everything it cheapens the look of the bike. If that bike had tanwall tires, and white tape and saddle it would look much better to me. Leather saddle and tape could also be nice.

You also have 4 slightly different versions of "celeste" on there which make it even worse.

Finished my first Celeste Bianchi. It's late 90's Reparto Corse CX frame I picked up at a swap this past January. Only wish it had the original fork but the owner wanted a threadless setup over the threaded stock fork. You can't tell from the photo but it's not a solid Celeste and actually a pearlish Celeste with hints of yellow for the shadows of the lettering.

I love the ride but the 40mm Happy Mediums are just a hair too big so any heavy pedaling causes it to rub on the chainstays. But overall it's a keeper even at 22 lbs. Suntour Superbe Pro black and gold partial group(cranks, derailleurs, hubs, seatpost) from a Black Lightning I picked up a couple of months ago. I have the pedals, headset and shifters but won't be using them. Thanks for whoever put the yellow bar tape in the BOC!

Nice. I just picked up a Bianch-branded celeste saddle, Turbo copy. I have no need for it.

That's lucky, you should throw it up on eBay, they tend to sell for pretty good coin, it's a sought after item.

Appreciate all the feedback, everyone! I keep looking at it and trying to hate it, but it's not working, so the Celeste stays for now. It was a lot of work anyway. If anything I'll try something different when the tires and bar tape wear out.

It's your bike, so if you like it, that's what matters. I am known to be a cranky, picky nerd.

What would really make it pop is if you refinished the piano and the bench. That should about do it.

So, I think the issues is that the Bar tape is really the only celeste color, the other colors are green variants and not the typical celeste green. Keep it as it until it gets dirty but maybe try a Brown honey brooks with brown wrap on this bike to offset the hard to find green. I would say that is a very pale metallic green frame vs a celeste frame.

Bikes: A green one, "Ragleigh," or something.

I'd be fine (thrilled!) with it, if it was all the same shade. But it isn't. It's almost as bad as red+pink+rose+vermillion+orange-red+...

verktyg - I asked, early on for clarification. He was not asking for opinions. So, there you have it. I have strong opinions on this one, but won't waste my "talent" here.

She should definitely go with the honey brown hair, to match the trim on the bikini. And the cubic ziconia is overkill, turquoise or jet black would blend better.

+1. It must be terrible for aftermarket suppliers to try and match celeste, given that Bianchi likes to reinvent it every few years and change the tint. Or maybe it's just poor quality control on the part of Bianchi's paint suppliers? Basically, they are trying to hit an almost constantly moving target.

+1. And a celeste piano. I wouldn't play a piano any other color.

That is correct. Celeste is the color of the sky. It was originally introduced, by Bianchi, in honor of the queen of Italy at that time, Marcherita of Savoy, who had eyes this color.

The famous pizza Margheritha, with the colors of the Italian flag, was named for her; I don't know why they couldn't make a sky blue pizza.

Now, if you paint a bike sky blue, and apply a clear coat lacquer, and the lacquer yellows with age, you end up with a greenish color. That's the color Bianchi owners call 'Celeste.'
