Guerciotti questions...

I was trying to ID this frame. From the forks, I figured early '90s, but then I turned it over and looked at the BB... I love Italian serial #'s.
I read earlier threads and am back to early mid '90s. I would appreciate input from knowledgeable folks. I was about to put Super Record on it based on the 84 being the last 2 digits of the serial#. It does have the label mentioned in earlier posts the "Varnished by Dossena Carlo" and the color "mica pearl". Very nice lug work, which I understand can be erratic. Seat tube seems to be 27, not 27.2 looking in BB I see slx spiral reinforcements. Sun came out, DOH.

Thanks for looking.
Eric

I have a SLX framed Guerc that I believe is from the late 80's, and everything about your frame looks like a later model - fork crown, internal cable routing, and the BB. So stay in the 90's . What is the rear OLD? (although I know that could have been modified).

I don't think that is a serial number, it's Cinelli's Patent number on the BB shell design which I would guess was granted in 1984.

No other numbers on the BB shell or drop-outs perhaps?

I'm so old, I forgot to check the old. Or so something. ZZ Top playing in the background... 130 it is. 27.2 also. Funny what a little goof-off can accomplish.

That makes sense, about the SN vs patent #.
And yep there's another number on the bb. Ready, wait for it..... 7

Might be the frame/fork pairing #, like Colnago used (at times). 'Cept I don'tthink the fork has a number at all... but I will re check.

I have a '97 Guerciotti with PRX tubing (spirals just like SLX). It has the same fork crowm, rear brake bridge and BB shell. The graphics are different, yet it also has a decal "Varnished by Dossena Carlo". BTW they also had an SLX frame available at that time.

Edit: As far as the 7 on the BB shell, is it a 57 cm frame? My frame is a 55 cm c-c and I have a 5 stamped on the shell.

Dang, 97... I was building a bit earlier. Not
that it matters. Dura Ace, and Scott bars. Should be rideable tomorrow. I wanted to mount the cranks in the lower right, 177.5 arms, 56t ring. Got them from Jim Martin, but no 24 x 36 bb except pre 87. So DA. for now. Thanks guys, esp GB. ATTACH=CONFIG]522511
