Bikes: Mostly English - predominantly Raleighs

I came across a red one, quite similar to the one the OP has pointed out about 7 or 8 years ago. It was set up as a city bike. It had a dog's breakfast of parts, some pretty nice, some quite pedestrian from different sources. Pretty sure the tubing wasn't anything special, as there wasn't a Reynolds or Columbus sticcker on it. I never pinned down the date (I figured 60' or early 70's). I took the bike to Cirque and put it in the charity auction. I think it went for $135.00

Bikes: Two wheeled ones

There are quite a few of these - mostly lower - mid quality. A few higher end. I don't think the builder was ever determined, but they aren't terribly impressive.

I've only seen one and at a C&V ride in Chicago. Green on chrome. With a name like that, who could resist? For that, thumbs up

Looks like it might have started life as an MT-8 or thereabouts, not their top of the line
Bulgier has a catalog: LINK

If it was an MT-2 or 3, I would have had you go get it for me to put on top of my [stationary] Biturbo.

My first awareness of them was an article in one of the car buff magazines, about 1971-72 where they test drove a full Campagnolo model. Never saw one after that.

$160.00 US for a lower end Maserati is not a bad price at all, in my opinion. The one I used to own cost me more to buy and I sold it for more than I bought it for...

Come to Germany, keep your license and experience what 185 really is ;-)

Been there ... done that. Our field apps. engineer was driving us out into the mountains near Munich and my wife was quietly converting his BMW's speedometer reading of 185kph into mph and starting to turn a whiter shade of pale.

I think I might have cultural issues with that invite, but appreciate the offer

The quotes were from a rather good song:

He needs to be careful...in these times you must lock your doors, lest you be attacked.

Thanks for all the great responses , agreed $160 what could go wrong . With all the hyper boil about L' Erocia I'm surprised this has not been snapped up even if it is a low end model .

This is getting a little tempting , I wonder what size the saddle tube is ? looks maybe 52cm . I hate asking a seller question if I have no intention of buying .

A friend had one of the mid-60s cars ..
The DOHC engine required Pulling the cam shaft off and adding valve shim caps to adjust the valves in a Tune Up.

Unsurprisingly a Lot of Maserati owners Put American V8's in them, to not have those $1000+ tuneups (with parts and labor) .

Appears it would have been catalogued at 54cm c-t-t, or 21" nominal, BITD. So this would translate to something on the order of 52.5cm c-t-c. Your eye spot on!

Thanks juvela , this bike is getting tempting , but it's to small . I like the look of a seat mast raised up a little too much. Yes fietsbob I love those DOHC engines . Back another lifetime ago I raced a formula car with a DOHC motor , what a sound it made . I had no business in that class , under funded, ( 1K tune up) but the women were gorgeous .
