Moulton Cycle

I recently helped clear a barn , under a pile of rubbish in the corner i found a moulton cycle looking beaten up .
I looked over the frame and the only number i could find was 380087 , which i assumed was the serial number .
after having another look around the frame , i found the following information . on 1 side of the frame under the seat, i found K64 and on the other side was 380087 .
On the sturmey archer 4 speed rear wheel hub i found the following , 64 12 and also 23085 .
I hope this information will help to identify this cycle as i would like to restore it .
My apologies to other members for not posting pictures on my first thread , but that was because i was not sure how to , i hope this time it has worked .

Looks like a 64 Moulton 4 speed. This one has upgrades but there it is. Lots of Moulton support online.

Yeah, it's a series one Moulton. Restoration would be the same as any other old english 3 (or 4) speed. Looks like a strip and repaint or powder coat is in order at this point. I'd expect the rubber suspension blocks to be rock hard by now, so that's the main challenge. I'm sure someone has figured out a replacement.

There's a book on Moultons. I have one somewhere. Moulton club: Moulton Bicycle Club | Moulton Bicycle Club

Looks like mine. Mine is the 1965 Huffy version. Hardest parts to find were the bellows and the 4 speed shifter. Before and after pictures. Roger

Nice job on that!

I'd be semi tempted to stealth hot rod it, as the 16 x 1 3/8" ISO 349 size is still used (ie Brompton) and high performance tires and rims are available.

I have alloy rims with 90 psi Vredestein tires. Makes a world of difference.
