Another 83 Sammontana

This is the bike I recently acquired and rebuilt with period correct super record bits. I did the paint correction using my car knowledge. Still waiting on the tires to show and install the cinelli uni saddle.

A fantastic start! A few minor nitpicks: the drops of the bars should be much closer to parallel to the ground, you should fit toe clips and straps, the chainrings should be super record and the saddle is too modern for the bike and is not as classically beautiful as many others that are readily available. Lastly French clincher rims don't correspond to a Sammontana team build. (they would however be great to ride to get a Sammontana ice cream though)

That is a nice looking bike, good work! I recently missed out a a similar one. Curious in case one of these ever falls into my hands, what did you use for the touch up paint?

Thanks for the input. I have the saddle, but have not installed it yet. The toe cages are on the way. Totally overlooked the crank, but that is being addressed as I type. As for the rim, I think I am going to leave them for now as I just had them trued. Also fixed the drop bars. When all this stuff comes in I will snap another picture, or 5!

I actually did not use any touchup paint. The touch ups were done to the bike when I bought it. All I did was use a soap that strips wax and coatings from the paint. Then I used a clay bar and removed a ton of impurities. Then I used the DA rotary wheel to cut and polish the paint. Finally, I used a coating that seals the paint and then waxed the frame.

Paint must look amazing. I don't think that the photo does it any justice.
