Go Forth Nobly
Working on this over the winter:

Motobecane Nobly
DuraAce crank
Wellgo pedals
8 spd Spinergy
Arabesque shifting (still have to make a shim to install F Der.)
Nitto bars
Milremo stem
leather grips
CODA levers
DiaComp calipers
Jaguar pads
Gold braid housing
32mm Grand Bois tires (should help keep the wheels from exploding)
Chinese post (Cuz I didn't have anything aluminum)
Some kind of seat
"Low trail"
I had to weld on a more modern der tab, and buy a BB threading tool to extend the (english!) threading into the shell. And file the fork tips a bit bigger. And bought a reamer set from Harbor Freight for the seat tube, since it came with a shim so the factory didn't have to ream the tube...

Bikes: A green one, "Ragleigh," or something.
I'm gonna go polite and say that's a real imaginative, eclectic look going on.
I'm trying to think of what would be the perfect FD to toss into this mix-n-match fiesta.

i had to click because I had no idea what the post title meant. Now I am so glad I did. I may be in a (very small) minority, but I love it. I have a 60s gran sport campy FD that might just be the icing on this cake.if you are interested ill post it you at no cost just to see this beast live!

"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue."
Vote for Juy Competition FD; or if not to your liking a Favorit f291700-2.
Orig BB thread would have been CH. Well, it's ISO now!
Tell us about creating the gear hanger...

Definitely some impressive fabrication work you have planned/going on. I seriously doubt you'll ever encounter another one just like this unique bike.
Are you planning on a complete painting of the frame when the modifications are finished?
And, if it suits you, its fine by me.

My two cents for the FD: Campagnolo Valentino push rod. Why the heck not!?!

I would consider doing the wheels this way (something I have planned for a project):

I have an Arabesque FD, so all the shifting bits will "match".
ldmataya is a genius, as the cast iron faux painting was the first thing that came to mind when I saw these wheels at the thrift shop. I've been planning to do it all along, and was going to wait to share the pics, but even I am wavering about it.
pastorbobnlnh: good memories there, my dad rode an Atala with Valentino shifting. (well, the memories of the shifting are not so good)
It's a fun city ride, I'm leaving the paint as is, with a clear coat.
I had an RD tab that worked for the Arabesque, and was the same thickness as the pressed steel rear drop out, so putting the two together was pretty simple. I MIG welded it.

I liked these, bit spendy though:

So I lightly modified a wool tweed sport coat for riding.
