Birmalux?
Reading the favorite seat post thread made me think, what is up with Birmalux?
According to Velobase, they made (only one kind of?) seat posts and rims.
VeloBase.com - View Brand
Googling reveals virtually nothing about this company.
Can anyone shed light on them, their history, did they make more products, etc.?

I think Falcons ca. early to mid 1970s had Birmalux aluminum alloy seat posts, as shown in the link's photos.
My guess is the company was in Birmingham, England - reknowned for steel making - and they used the newer, lighter metal: aluminium - and the x could have several meanings but, whatever its meaning, it sounds better than just about any letter could at the end of the company's name!

Yes, I have an opportunity to buy a N.O.S. set of Sprint rims by Birmalux (they would be my first tubulars). The only thing holding me back is that instead of the 36H, I am looking for 40H rear and 32H front. From their scarcity, it looks like not too many rims were made. The finish on these looks very good.

I've been watching for Birmalux seatpost for my Fleur de Lys. They pop up on ebay but, not surprisingly, prices are ridiculously high.
