Was looking for some vintage wheels and bike came with them. Belonged to a local flipper who only deals in pristine bikes. Can't date parts because most are changed out. Has a 26.6 seat post and a Tange falcon headset, suntour drops, cable guides over top of bb. Any ideas what I have?

Bikes: Too many to list here check my signature.

You sure it is Japanese and not mid level Italian? Allegedly, at least in the US, only Italian made Bianchis came in Celeste. I'll have to over to the hot side of the house and check but it could be a Professional, Japanese made, Ishawata Celeste (exception to ever rule no?) and SuperBee. Is there B on the HT/DT lug? Any markings at all?

Maybe T-Mar can decipher the serial.

Thanks BG, got some more picures. Dropouts say Suntour PRO, Piaggio sticker on seat tube, chrome fork with Suntour PRO, and Eddardo Bianchi on headtube.

No other markings. A friend is looking for a bike to ride in Paso Robles next year and this would likely fit her.

Is that an Aeromax crankset? I am still leaning towards the Professional

Most of the parts look like they came from a Specialized with 600. DA shifters, Tektro brakes. Think I have some Suntour Superbe parts that could go on it. You have any good sources for Bianchi Catalogs?

Yes, based on the serial number it's from Bianchi's Japanese contractor and a 1981 model. Based on the recessed brake nuts, it's a Professional but totally franker biked.

Put on the Suntour Superbe and some campy Centaur brakes. Turned out to be a really nice riding bike. I'd never ridden the Superbe group before and was impressed by it...
