Galmozzi....maybe

Hi everyone first time poster i have tried to post this a few times but i have had no luck. Maybe i bad conection. Anyway i picked this bike up for $25 to convert into a single speed but after doing a little research i think i might have found something worth restoring to its origanal glory. The 2 bike shops i went to with the bike had very little info on it and i cant seem to find to much for myself searching the web. I think it is a legit galmozzi with some upgrades/downgrages depending on how you look at it. I dont want to spend money trying to get something painted and make it period correct if its a knock off. But any info on the bike would be welcomed. Thanks in advance. Ha i just have to figure out how to upload pics now!

Are you trying to post a link, or photos (neither shows up in your post)? If the former, post the link without the "https://" part, just in the main text. If the latter, hit the "go advanced" and do "Attach files" and "manage attachments." For the photos, you may need to post 9 more times, though there are a fair number of new members who are able to get photos up on their first few posts.

EDIT: And welcome to the forums!

I believe you need 10 posts to post pics or links.

It might be. List one detail about this bike in each of 8 consecutive posts. Then when you're finally able to post photos, we'll already have some info.

I know the shifters are not origanal. They are shamano tiagra with brakes and shifter in one. I think they are called brifters? It has a shamano deore rear derailer, again not origanal

Seems like Wanamaker was a VERY BIG guy!
Not familiar with Galmozzis, but that looks to be a very nice bike!

Yes that is real. Yes, Wanamaker was a customer and he was tall. You have a gem. To be utterly original you would want to revert to 120 spacing. Tutti Campi of course. Your frame is barely used. Original luster on paint. Touch it up and be happy.

Knowing that it is legit Maybe i will do a slow rebuild on it and bring it back to period correctness. Its funny because i almost passed it up. At first it was marked $50 and the guy working saw me checking the bike out and basically told me if i want it for $25 just to take it because he was sick of looking at it. I dont know maybe it was there for a while or he stubbed his toe on it to many times but it turned out to be the easiest haggle i have ever been involved with! Anyway thanks for the replies/help and thank you so much for helping me upload the pics!

Forgive my ignorance but what makes these bikes so special? I am not that familiar with vintage italian road bikes.

The man who made them. His record with Gloria, Stucchi, Cinelli. And the beauty of the work.
If you are doing period correct that frame is 1973. Sold as frame only, no build sheets for these.

Unless this something that's going to be special to you, you might consider selling. On eBay, even rough, you're looking at a pretty easy $1000+
