La Savoureuse 2017
Following @Munny's lead, mrs non-fixie and I got curious enough to shell out €22 each and drive down to Ciney yesterday with a couple of bikes and join the festivities of La Savoureuse:

What a pleasant surprise!
I forgot to bring a camera
, but luckily mrs n-f had her phone with her, so I've got some pics to share.
We arrived at the château St-Roch fairly early, so we'd be in time for the breakfast, and were welcomed by music:

We found Munny drooling over this Jim Guard:

The man himself had brought this way cool Mino Denti:

Our own rides were a couple of bikes we plan to use on our next touring trip, and which had not yet been properly tested. The Mercier needed a few minor adjustments during the day, but other than that they turned out to be the nice rides we'd hoped:

The rules were fairly casual, so there were all sorts of bikes:

And, of course, some vintage motors as well:

At 10:30 we started 'en prologue' behind the Rodania Renault Ondine:

The Condroz region is very beautiful, and the hills provided some interesting challenges for the under-powered and under-geared. We did the 60k route, and that was enough to keep us busy all day.

Not in the least because there was a stop every 10k, where we were presented with all sorts of local produce, including the most excellent beers

We had a wonderful day, and we'll definitely be back again next time!

Looks like a good time. Interesting to see the relative lack of helmets.

Great pictorial report N-F, the forum definitely needs a smilie for envy. Looks like a great day all around for you and Mrs. N-F. That Denti is something, that thing really pops with its paint and bar wrap coloring.
Q. Did the Rodania Renault auto play that repetitive Rodania song that was played over and over while it passed along the day's route ahead of the peloton and drummed up interest.

I have a different perspective. I have experienced crashing "sans helmet". I still have scars after 40 years. I was lucky. I will not to trust to luck again.

To each their own, except where legislated otherwise.

I find myself viewing this thread again.
non-fixie - this is one of many smaller 'venues' that you have shown. How many attendees at this soiree?
Again credits to the mrs for photo saavy.
Love the local flavor -- beer, of course.
edit: the beer in the short stemmed glass seems to possess a certain body to it. 'Unfiltered'?

Let's get in touch again when a date is published for next year. It would be a nice event for a meet-up with some more local BF members. And northbend, of course.

If anyone has a color matching Ofmega mistral FRONT dérailleur (not collar) at an acceptable poor european price, I'd be happy to alter my Mino.
Same for my friend bike (just behind the barrier), if anyone has the very specific handlebar ...
(We teamed the short bases frames)
Thanks for these pics.
We skiped the 2 first stops that came too early
About helmets, in Belgium, they were mandatory for racing
I had the experience to wake up in the emergencies and I kissed my broken helmet : sharp of surgery

Original Oakley Shades - i'm remembering late '80s. Greg L. Wore them.
OMG haven't carried my spare like that in .... at least a couple of seasons. Luckily (but less snugly), my 700c's are baggier.
edit: a couple of thick beers in th boy, and i bet he's all stories and laughs. Eh?

Great! There was only one rather tatty Presto in attendance this year, so your nice and shiny one would be quite welcome.
