Just got back from my first Amsterdam trip, just thought I'd share some pics.
I've never seen so many bike in one place, ever. This may be my new home soon.
The pics are a little big. sorry

I spent just over a week there a couple years ago. I agree, it's an amazing place. I was in Amsterdam for about 5 of the days, then in the countryside outside of Groningen. Talk about some incredible scenery and great people. And of course bikes galore! I'd love to go back sometime. Glad you had a good time, and nice pictures.

Could you see yourself living there? I'm thinking about applying for a working visa and just teach english there, or work at a smoke shop. whatever's best

Also, I'd like to see more pics! So if you've been to Amsterdam, share em

Man, these pics are awesome, but you can't post photos of weed, weed use, or sex workers here. Maybe take out those three.

Maybe put them in a Flickr account and link to them.

no offense taken. i would've removed them but you beat me to it.
my apologies if I violated any forum rules, it won't happen again. I just thought, since it was legal there, it would be okay to post.

I would totally live there if I could swing it! I had a great time while there, and I didn't even smoke. Had a few edibles, but no smoke for some reason. If you are able, I say go for it! I'll have to do some digging for the pics. Especially since the wife and I were quite fat while there a few years ago!

Lots of bike theft there or not so much? And with all the bike traffic are you forced to ride at 5mph or is it easy to get around it all?

Awesome pics. I really want to visit Amsterdam.

I did. It's hard to come back to America after a trip to Amsterdam

I didn't have any edibles, I'm afraid of them. haha, but my gf did though, she was out of it. I had to drag her around the airport.

Would you believe me if I told you there was none? I'm sure there is but it seems people aren't too worried. People don't even lock their bikes to anything, they just lock the wheels to the frame. There's too many bikes in Amsterdam
Lots of bike traffic, but you aren't forced to ride slow. I really don't know how to explain how the bike traffic works over there, but it works

Thanks for the great pics. You're very lucky. It looks pretty similar to Copenhagen minus the pot. I see lots of cargo bikes with kids in it and children's seats attached to the back. This is a sign of ultimate bike lifestyle. It can't get better than that.

Now I need to convince my wife to go on another bike adventure to Amsterdam next year.

Yup, been there a few times. But I prefer other parts of the Netherlands, like The Hague for example.
Most folks in Holland speak english, so I think it will be hard getting a job as an english teacher there.
I'll have to dig up my stash to find my Amsterdam photos, but here's my short video

If your bike has a sign on it it will be Messed with,,,,You probably will be scared for a moment but it usually leaves the bike none the worse for ware....with 6 months total is the country I only remember 3 helmets,,,one on the only recumbent...The reason I was told the bikes all alike because the Germans brought them and they traded hands, fleeing the country, after they where liberated...until the market was flooded with replicas and that is what works there...
