Rampar Road Bike.. info wanted!

Stand back a few feet and look at it. See how the tubes that go from under the seat down to the rear wheel sort of curve near where the brake is mounted? That should not be there.

"Rampar" was a creation of Raleigh USA, the name being a portmanteau of Raleigh AMerica PARts. The Rampar name, AFAIK, was only used on entry level bikes. Raleigh USA made higher end bikes under the Technium label.

Yeah, I remember the burnt orange. Most of them that I remember were a deep brown, though. A lot of my friends had Rampar's. A good bike, for the money!

The main thing I remember about the Rampar BMX bikes was the insanely long crank arms they had. You did not continue pedaling during a turn. Ever.

I am tremendously biased, but for a lower-end road bike, I would prefer something like a Peugeot UO-8.

High Plains Luddite
I had a full-suspension Rampar kids bike in the 1970s. It was styled like a motorcycle and weighed about as much as one. Still, I had a blast on that thing.
