yes, but i really dont mind odd looking. i use my mustache bars upside down and apparently that is some kind of awful crime in this forum!

My ex-wife had one of those Terrys. She's about 5'0". Great bike. My kid's girlfriend has a Centurion of the same design. It works for some people. They're fun for test rides even if it doesn't fit you. The small, light front wheel makes it very nimble.

Another Raleigh Tourist has turned up, as I discovered yesterday. This one is missing the front wheel and some front brake parts in addition to the chainwheel cover on the chainguard, but it is the relatively uncommon 22" frame like the one I already have that is more complete but which is also cosmetically much worse. I don't want to buy this one, but we all know how that goes...

$5 wheel sale at our local co-op this week. I'm shocked they have any left. I picked up several after four days of the sale (let others get first pick).

I stopped by Bike Works the yesterday and ran into a lot of people I know from here (BF) and locally, which was a lot of fun.

The notable things for sale were:

1) 1987 Schwinn Paramount road frameset for $150 - 53.5cm, jade green metallic, paint and decals in great shape, Shimano EF rear dropouts, Shimano 600 (6400 or 6500) headset.

2) Complete "as-is" 1988 Schwinn Premis for probably ~$40-50 - about a 23" / 58cm, white/grey with aqua/purple rectangle graphics, white Suntour Cyclone 9000 and other Dia Compe/SR pieces, a little grubby, but whole, original, and with paint that will most likely shine right up.

Went by our local place for the first time in weeks. They've cleaned it up a bit and a lot of the bikes I posted before are still there but I found a few more.

A Schwinn Racer from the '70s with a shop sticker from Haack's in Madison WI. It also has license stickers from the City of Richmond (back when they were doing that) and from my alma mater VCU (also back when they were doing that). So this bike came to town long ago and has been here for a while.

Ross Signature 290S that looks pretty nice. Any Ross that doesn't have those stupid fork ends is pretty nice.

A Jaguar 3-speed "First Class" made in West Germany. Remember West Germany, back in the pre-Reunification days? The Russia threat...nuclear war just over the horizon...ah, those were good times!

Some of the Signature models feature Tom Kellogg-made frames. The following years they were from Taiwan and\or Japan, with a triple butted Ishiwata frameset.

Fantastic frames, with a real grab bag of parts on them.

I did not examine this one in detail but did notice the exceptionally nice finish on it and the semi-sloping fork crown. Not my size so I was not too strongly attracted. This one does appear to be practicing the "grab bag" rule.

Here's a fun one. I'd rate it as about like a Raleigh Record. I think it's sort of a "fan's bike" like those "Merckx" Falcons. I dug a little and apparantly Chris Barber was a trombone playing bandleader celeb in England who sponsored road racing motos, a race car, and a bike team, so he was pretty cool.

I dunno, we have a couple like that over here in Bloomington, as well as another Georgena Terry , but there may be a name on it. Co-Op over in B-N is rather young, just started last year. I go by there Saturday mornings and volunteer.

Hello,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our local bicycle oriented cooperative/nonprofit community service organization where I volunteer. Our goal is to provide bicycles to those less fortunate. We have an “Earn-a-Bike” program for adults, a program for providing bikes to children and another to provide refugee youth with bikes. We also have day and evening classes in bike repair and maintenance.

Although we are a full service bike shop, we do not compete with local bike shops, but work in cooperation with them. There are cross referrals between our businesses. Essentially we address different markets and work together to help the community avoid the disappointment of “cheap” bikes.

Local donations and grants support us and our programs. We also sell used parts and refurbished bikes as well as some new parts and entry level bikes.

Our senior mechanics sometimes take on personal projects doing retro-mod type rebuilds to help the cash flow. See attached picture. I’ve also attached pictures of some specialty “as is” bikes that have been donated. Additionally, we have some vintage stuff; parts, frames and a few complete bikes.

photo caused me the recall the character of 1889 western town Mayor Sam Bolden played by actor John Mcgiver in the 1971 feature film "The Lawman." Story is mostly about "killin' ", both past and imminent. Mayor is forever out of the loop as do what is going on by virtue of hearing loss and has to keep asking "what'd he say?" as he comically holds up his ear trumpet. his difficulty provides the viewer with moments of welcome levity in what is otherwise a weighty subject.

If that is you snap it up! Probably will go about $100 (less if its not me)they have the victory cranks from in the show case up front $50, didn't see the rest of it, it is really clean.
