Bianchi Dump Find!
Hey all!
I was recently at a dump in The Middle of Nowhere, Ontario, Canada, when something happened to catch my eye at the top of a scrap metal pile. Lo and behold, it was an old Bianchi frame! It happens to be in solid shape, with only surface damage! I am posting my find here to share with you all, but also because I want to know some more about the frame. Through my own research I believe it to be a 1987 Bianchi Strada LX frame, but if anyone assumes differently, I would be glad to hear your opinion! Also, I am curious about the value and quality of such a frame and if it is worth restoring or even using in a build.
Thanks and enjoy my find!

It's definitely a 1987 model year frame based on the CdM decal. However, the presence
of stamped dropouts indicate low grade material in the stays, almost certainly hi-tensile steel. The main tubes may be higher grade, likely plain gauge CrMo. This would be consistent with a Strada/Stada LX.
This would build up into a nice, upper entry level, recreational tourer or commuter but only if you already have a good stash of parts and can do all the labour yourself. Otherwise, I'd sell the frame for $20-$30.

Remember to check for crash damage.... especially near the head tube at the top and down tubes......
Many reasons why nice frames pop up in dumps, and that's one of them.....
Otherwise, great find if It's OK. Specially with a brand That's so popular and well regarded!
