Al Wanta Frame Set
I recently picked up this Al Wanta Frame set. It was built in the early 1990s and was used by a local racer here in Santa Barbara. Wanta made frames here before moving to Florida. I haven't decided what I am going to do with the frame. It is made of Reynolds 653 and it was originally equipped with a Campy C record group set. I probably won't invest that much money in the rebuild.
Cycloculture: Allan Wanta - Building Custom Frames for Common Folk Since 1976 The original owner says the fork may have been replaced by a later owner. Fork reads Reynolds Butted 17/13B and there is definitely chrome under the paint on the fork crowns
I am hoping to get a critical assessment of this frameset before I decide what to do. Any and all feedback welcome.

I don’t know anything about Wanta frames but I have a Merckx in Reynolds 653 and it is one of my favorites. That one has potential to be a nice rider. Too bad you didn’t get it up and running in time for Halloween!
