I liked this one. I'm only a quarter mile (or less) from a super local MUP and every once in awhile I give the bike a break and walk it instead. There are strategically-placed benches and picnic tables here and there and I've stopped off and just enjoyed watching/listening to the bikes going by, too.

The above mention 'listening' of bikes. My current two fave off-road bikes are stealthy silent. Love it in the serene forests. HATE the sound of noisy hubs for off-road.

Winding stretches of road enclosed in a tunnel of summer foliage

fresh grease the color of seawater

To wrench on the bike and daydream about riding it, then ride the bike and daydream about wrenching on it

how sometimes a ride is mostly just breathing

Headwind on the out leg of an out-and-back ride.
That 'chplomph' sound made when riding over roots with the exact correct air pressure in tires and shocks.

I think that I heard that Posi pair being laid down this morning! ...No, wait, you're nowhere near the Sierra foothills(?).

My memory is feeling short, so from this evening's ride, down out of the foothills with a 12-26t Ultra-7, Superbe derailer and modern chain, then clocking a very youthful time and getting back home before dark with my pockets nearly stuffed with bike parts from the charity co-op, tailwind at my back.
