I'll offer a slightly different perspective than many - though pretty close to randy's -

I get the sensibility of wanting to ride your bikes. I enjoy all of mine by riding them - even if my current location proves to be an obstacle to riding them as much as I'd like to. That said, some bicycles are such beautiful things that I could consider them art. That said, a precious few bikes are worth so much that I'd be less inclined to ride them simply because of the financial risk. While I would personally try to get them out for a spin every now and then on days when the weather is perfect, I wouldn't fault someone for simply preserving it. In a sense, I'm a good ways along the path of creating a bit of a mini Raleigh museum. Hoping that after acquiring the final house next year, I'll have better circumstances to both display my favorites in something a bit more refined than hooks from the ceiling, and to roll out the door and be on an enjoyable ride. However, should the day come when the only way I could enjoy them would be to look at them, I'd certainly keep at least a couple on hand for the memories and the artistry.

Ha! Indeed, I am in fact downsizing the collection at the moment, to focus on a riding and maintaining a couple of bikes I really enjoy. The Club Fuji is as you describe it! I really enjoy that bike a lot, it was my regular rider for a couple of seasons before I built up a few of the older rides you can see on my current list. As recently as May I went out for two solo century rides on it, one being 138 miles from Dinuba to Mendota and back on a warm day... T'was an adventure!
