Batavus Criterium help

Hi there!

I've just found a wonderful Batavus frame on a yard sale, but have not been able to locate the frame number. Does anyone have any idea about where Batavus usually put it? Been searching for an hour.

Batavus bikes are notorious for that, there doesn't seem to be any logic to the place or the number.

Mine was on the bottom bracket. If it is not there, check the seat tube or even the fork. Otherwise I would suggest checking if it has been resprayed.

I would also suggest asking in the Bring out your Batavus thread. Maybe someone knows the most likely place of your particular model.

Batavus used its Durolon coating that seems thicker than ordinary paint and might obscure a lightly stamped serial number. It's probably there. Keep looking.
