Just 25 years after I first saw it on a street. 28" folder.

I think you never saw such a bike. It was rare even here. I wanted it, but there were no chance at that time.


Original 1989 frame and cranks.


Bought (2013) and converted to fixed gear in 2015.


Was my winter bike 2015-2016.


And not only winter. 34 lbs is real.

Some full size folders have military background. It's possible that yours is a decommissioned army bike.

I can't see it, if only because it wouldn't be strong enough for that kind of use. It reminds me a lot of Royal Mail bikes, but definitely not any good for that either.

It's a mass produced soviet bike. Only not that mass produced to be available at shops, when I visited those shops.

The frame is heavy and strong. Frameset is 11.5 lbs (5.3 kg). Relaxed geometry. Long base - 115cm. Name - "Universal". Coaster brake hub. Very high BB.

The Universal brand bicycles that I have seen were made in Poland. The logo had a stylized Pegasus.

That's interesting! Sure mine is a different Universal - cyrillic one.
