Shop Transfer Question -

-----

These two recently posted transfer images twigged a faint memory for me.

IIRC at one time there was a trade association for bicycle dealers which offered members a good price on shop transfers. There was a standardised design and the individual shop would send in the information they wanted put on it. The arrangement offered a cost saving to the shop because they did not have to pay a setup charge.

Am thinking this transfer represents one of these.

Does anyone else recall this?

Thanks for looking.

Bikes: Waterford Paramount Touring, Raleigh Sports 3-speeds in M23 & L23, Schwinn Cimarron oddball build, Marin Palisades Trail dropbar conversion, Nishiki Cresta GT, Jeunet mixte

NBDA was the National Bicycle Dealers Association, but I do not know about those stickers. Custom shop stickers were widespread by the late '70s.

Bikes: Yes, please.

Like this one? Seems to have been a Menlo Park thing.

Thanks so much for the responses!

Was hoping to hear from readers with a several decades long background in the trade who may recall this practice.

Subscribed to some of the trade publications back in the 1970's and 1980's but have not saved any of the issues.

Perhaps readers such as verktyg or T-Mar may recall something of this transfer printing service...

Or do readers of the CR email list ever recollect it being mentioned?

Thank you.
