Another Centurion
I’ve been watching this Centurion on Craigslist for a couple weeks now. The price dropped done and I finally picked it up today. Slapped a Brooks on it to take a quick spin. New Paselas, bar tape and cables and it should be ready. My intentions for it was bad weather and a winter bike but this thing is clean. http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/...psqrkyu6od.jpg http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/...psrpxmzzyb.jpg http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/...psvvzcwr60.jpg |
NICE score Sloar. Difficult to pass up a Centurion when it's in that good of condition.
|
That's pretty. And a triple? Oh, myyyyyyy!
|
Lovely, nice score #Sloar
|
You don't find one of these every day. I would have bought it as well; pretty bike.
|
Score ! Love that chrome chain stay / fork crown .
|
I would like another with stud mounted centerpulls
|
Got a mixte with similar colors. Beautiful bikes.
|
Sweet!!

Great bike. Of course, if you feel like selling it, you know where to look, and I mean LOOK SOUTH towards Evansville....
I was at the Hilly Hundred, and there was a '76 model the guy has had since new. Pearl paint scheme, awesome bike. I will get pics up when I get them out of my phone... |
As always for you- neat find.
the rear derailleur is late 80s...about 88...so not original. are there downtube bottle bosses on the top and bottom of the tube? Looks that way. But there arent bottle bosses on the seat tube? I don't see any. |

Every one I've seen had a different RD. The one I saw Saturday, with 3222' of climbing in 51 miles, had an XT RD. I don't blame him.
I happened to see the rd and knew its from late 80s as i have one(on a bike its bot original to). Just thought to mention it since often times its difficult to discern what is and isnt original to some bikes due to a lack of catalogs. definitely didn't mean to point it out in a negative way. |
No worries, by the time I’m done there will be a few more non original parts. I bought it to ride not collect. |

None on the seattube, but I might use clamps, two on the downtube. cool! |
Nice Score!
Looks to be a Early 1984 Model. |
Is that the right orientation for the rear brake cable stop? If it is then mine's on backwards.

Sometimes, especially when I built my Klein, I wondered if they meant "level touring." :D |

wow- pretty unique to have 2 on the downtube and none on the seat tube.
cool! The Centurion mount looks a lot easier to grab a bottle without getting the Cat 5 tattoo. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...040d60aee7.jpg Looks like only one bottle cage on this '76 (per the owner) was "intended." https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...f335e145b1.jpg |
