It Broke Off Inside...
While restoring my future commuter bike to rideable condition (nearly 50 years of neglect from the original owner), I took apart the Suntour Spirt front derailleur. The small screw that is supposed to keep the cable in place was very tight inside the body of the derailleur. Fortunately, I got it out. Once I cleaned everything up, I started tuning up the bike after a short test ride. As per usual, the cable and whatnot settled into place. When I retightened the screw after readjusting the cable, the screw sheared right at the head. Luckily, it was tight enough to hold the cable in place.
Key Things:
-What threading is the little screw? If it is standard, I will replace it with a stainless or better screw.
-How can I get the screw out? I have removed screws before, but they weren't sheared, only stuck and partially stripped.
-Has this happened to anybody else?
One more thing:
There is a high probability that I was ham-fisted when I removed and tightened the screw. Please don't call me out on this, I am aware of it.

happens to the best of us. forum recently had at least 3? threads on removing stripped bolts of some kind. you can try a small left hand drill bit. it will bore into the stuck screw & at a certain point it will unscrew the bolt. if it doesn't & you wind up drilling all the way thru or deep enough you can use a left hand screw extractor inserted into the hole you drilled. with both tools the rotation is counter clockwise

Best wishes for a successful removal

This happened to me once, in the mid-1970s, the night before a scheduled ride. I was tuning up the bike, removed some cable slack to the front derailleur, and stripped off the bolt head when re-torquing the fixing assembly.
Your Suntour Spirt cable anchor bolt is probably M4 thread, available at hardware stores.
Removal of the threaded stud is best done when you have extra time and a reservoir of patience. Not recommended at 1am the morning of the ride. ;->
a) remove the front derailleur from the bike
b) apply penetrating oil or other lubrication around the edges of the sheared bolt
c) if there is any bolt body protruding from the surface of the derailleur body, you might be able to file a slot into the bolt remnant and remove it with a screwdriver. If this is possible and works for you, be thankful. Otherwise...
d) drill a small hole into the bolt stud and use a small "easy out" (spiral thread screw extractor) like the attached illustration from Hanson
e) if you are successful in removing the bolt stud you can take the derailleur to the hardware store for a replacement bolt
Always a good idea to put a dab of grease on your metal threaded bolts when using them in aluminum body receivers.
Please let us know how this works out for you.

Post a pic of the situation. Better yet, multiple pics, from multiple angles.
Is there ANY bit of the screw shank protruding, on either side? (Not sure if the far side of whatever the screw is screwed into is open.)
