O.T., About posting pics from Flickr.....

Looks like since I cannot get to my "Camera Roll" in Flickr, to copy my image addresses, i cannot post pics into the forum.
Per the posted message from Flickr, it seems like "Camera Roll" will not be available indefinitely(??).
Are my pics now held hostage by Flickr, just like PB did to us a couple of years ago??
Is there any way to get my pics addresses from the site at this time??
The only addresses I can copy is in their editors which does not give a working address to host my pics on other sites...

Good questions.

I'm just uploading to my iCloud atm.

I deleted or downloaded all content off of my Flickr.

No more bike pics on forums for me.

I guess I'm not up to date to what has happened with Flickr's free hosting site. I do remember announcements that they will start limiting free photo and video hosting, and also start deleting pics and videos, but I thought that only applied to accounts with more than a thousand pics and/or videos.....
I must only have 50 to 60 pics in their site at this time. They did not delete them, but they are not hosting them for posting in other sites (No more Camera Roll in my account). I guess I'll just have to resurrect the Imgur account I had?...
Crap! This sucks big time...AGAIN!!

Photo hosting is very different nowadays... Just waiting for Imgur to do the same thing, it’s inevitable.

flicker just went through a re build and they say cam roll is down for awhile , it should have gave you the message if you click on cam roll . I was not aware of cam roll because I just use photostream , have you tried that ? Do you have a pro acc.

From Wikipedia:

On April 20, 2018, SmugMug acquired Flickr from Verizon's Oath and put an end to Flickr 1TB storage plan for free users, these users had until February 5, 2019 to convert to 'Pro' accounts or their photo streams would be reduced to a maximum of 1000 pictures.[4][40]The deadline was later extended to March 12, 2019. The reasons cited were that the existing model was unsustainable by

You could just upload them to bikeforums.net, click the little pic of sun and mountains next to the smiley face in button bar, and upload the image from your device / computer. You can find a URL for images on flickr by clicking the download (down arrow) to the right of your flickr photo, view all sizes, select size, right click image, copy image address ... the image address should now be in your clipboard to paste ...

Example from my flickr:

You don't need camera roll to post pictures.

Yeah, it's a hack but that's how you have to do it with flickr. As above^^^: Click the download icon arrow, click view all sizes, select the one you want, right click and copy image address.

At that point you can use standard BB code image tags. Paste it into the text and surround it with the IMG tag. Like this:

(img) supercool.com/image.jpg (/img) Replace curvy brackets with the square brackets. (BB code 'code' tag doesn't work on this forum)

Testing....

Bikes: yes

No problem with Flickr here.
Accessing photos as usual from either "Albums" or "Photostream."
Copying image address as usual, too, just by clicking on the photo then clicking the "Share photo" button, then copying, and then pasting and paring down the image address to the [img] tags.

Is the problem getting the photos from cameraroll to Flickr, or getting the photos from Flickr to the forum?

Camera Roll is being worked on. It's not permanently gone, and there's an easy workaround: Go to Photostream, change from Public View to View All. Now you can see all of your photos. To access the photo URL, simply click on an image, then click on the arrow icon in the lower right hand corner, select View All Sizes. Right click on the image and choose Copy Image Address. Paste it wherever you need it.

I've been using Flickr for years now without a problem. It's how I post images on BF, and how I add them to the various blogs I write for. I do pay the $25 per year for "professional" membership, but consider it a worthwhile investment.

You can always upload photos on this website.

Just follow the link to your Album/Gallery, and upload the photos.

https://www.bikeforums.net/g/

The problem, of course, is that BikeForums has chosen to also host their photos on a third party website, https://cimg5.ibsrv.net, and I fear that it will come back and bite them someday.

just hit the share button (swoopy arrow) on the picture you want to share. I usually select bbcode as the format, so I can just paste the link they give me.
