Hooker Elite???

So, I got contacted by a guy that has a Hooker Elite bike from the early 90"s? With an alleged connection to Eddie B. Any idea what this might be worth? It seems like the provenance might be hard to prove... i love race history bikes, but this is out of my comfort zone .
Thx.

I don't remember any connection to Eddie B because I don't think the bikes were UCI legal; but that doesn't mean I'm right.

Bikes: TRIMMED DOWN THE HERD

Interesting. Never knew Hooker headers made bikes. You learn something new everyday.

Gary Hooker of endless energy and creating speed. Himself an accomplished athlete. Mostly known for the successful Hooker Headers company, his bike interest was just as impressive. Some were very slippery in wind tunnel test, even made some beautiful components (brakes, etc).

Short bio

Hooker Elite

What condition is the OP frame or overall bike in?

I thought I would give you the first zinger since you are so smooth with the ladies. My zinger is:

An elite hooker does indeed cost you a lot of money.........at least that is what I have been told.

Sizable dent on the rear portion of the top tube... otherwise nice. His initial price is $1,300 sans wheels... if there is no traceable history, I'm going to pass. I'm a history guy, and there seems to be little documentation on its life. When I validated the Levi's bike, it took thousands of hours of research before I felt I could emphatically conclude what it was... With my current work schedule- "No time for love Dr. Jones!" , especially when (outside of buying it from Eddie B) the owner doesn't know for sure...

Bicycling magazine did do a road test/review of a Hooker model, though I don't remember anything about it.

The Shaklee team (Kent Bostick et al) rode Hooker bikes. I got passed by one in the Masters Nationals TT in '92. So they were at least USCF legal.
