Miyata Three Ten
Freebie I picked up today. Needs one of the shifter cables replaced and a rear tire but other than that pretty solid. It would seem to be too small for my over six foot frame but standing over it I fit perfectly at the crotch. Might be a keeper, we'll see. Interesting color.

I am not a big fan of turkey levers or stem shifters but those are easily changed and Free. Miyata. Cream Headtube - SCORE nicely done OP

Those are sweet riders!
Sweet enough to overlook the shift position and chicken levers!
They will add diversity and a bit of interest when ridden in rotation with your other rides!
You may find that the next rider of this doesn’t like down tube shifters or can’t use them comfortably anymore and this just what he/she is looking for...

You can remove the bolt and cut the end of the protruding shaft to be flush with the lever bodies. With new hoods, nobody would ever notice.

Nice bike. I let mine go this spring in a purge to get to fewer bikes. I did keep the comphy vetta saddle though.

You can verify the year by checking the serial number under the bottom bracket. However, symmetric shifters were on the 84,85 and 86 models. Decals on your bike look like 86.
Was not indexed, so I suppose if the owner wanted SIS on it, may have needed to use those shifters, which I think must have been some kind of mod as well because I would have thought stem shifters were out of style by then.
