Agree and understand your point clearly now.

Bikes: Bikes??? Thought this was social media?!?

I can't imagine selling my Corsa Extra SLX.
Value to me exceeds the market.

edit for serial number: they're everywhere, they're everywhere...

let me find one before the original owner did a CyclArt repaint. I got frameset w/ BB+HS.

I would guess so, once I did an internet search. BUT THEN WHY so so many in the cycling world speak in the context as if this person been of no further existence? As if this person cannot be consulted, even by vendors/manufacturers, for tech questions. We know how big names are relied on for research. (advancement of products, etc -- it was never spoken about that EM had to do with the carbon fiber)

Anything is possible Pretty sure it's just his shtick. Read his posts and you'll see he drops it occasionally. Jury is still out as to whether he's just having fun or is truly disturbed. The multiple, seemingly angry posts about the "friends" stealing bikes and trainers were a little much. As be Winter as such, if so continue to much more samely.

he was a racer- why would you expect him to be consulted on carbon fiber layup and advancmentnin product design?
and he is like mid70s at this point- maybe he doesnt own the brand anymore or consult in developing technology because in addition to not being an engineer, he doesnt want to work like that anymore?

Those are total guesses, but I would say they are reasonable.

Because he much idolized by who be the consumers. It is such who the business related sources want to make money from; I would think the business would endorse such -- the way the world had become. As that be generally how business society now operates.

There is an app to assist, grammarly.com

Barring a live editor.

The Merckx brand started out as only his own race bikes so adorned.

Later after a few World Championships and Grand Tour victories, just a set of graphics applied to bikes built by various licensees for different markets.

Good business. At the time, I thought lacking as to a bike that Eddy would have designed.

Post retirement he secured the help of Ugo DeRosa to help set up his factory in Eddy's home country.

That collaboration yielded at first one road racing bike, then others.

Often marketed as "century" geometry, essentially useful all day, predictable, helpful.

The company followed the material tends, including carbon fiber while Eddy was at the helm.

The brand had value, he decided to retire and sold it.

The bikes of the brand still have value, that value depends on the macro economic forces at play and consumer whims for both new and used product.

Q: Do we have a typo?

Is the OP's handle really "Molteni"??
Is it really Eddy driving up prices on NOS frames??

Some people say that Eddie gets one American dollar every time his name is mentioned on the Internets.

Maybe the OP should have watched some Samurai Jack. Then he could have wowed us with dialogue like this. Or some of that stuff Oswald Bates spouted.
