Lug pattern and head transfer ring a faint bell.

Have seen them before but can no pull up a name at the moment.

Think it hails from a Germanic nation rather than the UK.

Does it have a stencil/fade type paint finish?

Will any additional imagery be gliding in or is this it?

something about the lugs ring a faint "Austrian" bell, but not any specific or well-known Austrian brand.

thank you for the additional images

appears original gear ensemble was Huret; probably something such as an Allvit

that is one prominent seam on the seat tube!

would expect bottom bracket shell to be 68mm BSC

was a fork included, or did it come to your friend without?

appears there be quite a few markings in the head lugs both above and below the cutouts. has your friend been able to read any of them?
