An Italian and an Asian

I just got back into riding again after a twenty year layoff. I bought these recently and Wps an to spend quite a bit of time on them when the roads clear this spring. I have been riding a beater bike to get some miles in.

The Colner is a restomod with a mix of Ultegra and 105 components.

the Focus is all original but it did change the seat, bar tape, and tires.

Nice bikes, I was almost expecting a joke with the tittle of the thread.

One bike has a large frame with a short seat post extension, the other a smaller frame with a longer seat post extension. Do you have a preference?

My normal fit size is 58cm or 23", however, I had a 21" bike that I liked when I was younger because I felt like the handlebars way lower than the seat made me feel faster. Perhaps not so in reality, but that was the thought.

Some of those Colner frames were made in Benelux (by Martens/Martelly of Belgium) even tho many were heavily "inspired" by Colnago...and others were in fact Italian-made frames, imported and re-branded for the Benelux market.

So since the expectation for this was broached: "An Italian and an Asian walk into a bar, and the bartender says..."

Thats a good question. In theory the Focus is way to big for me and in theory I prefer the smaller one. As the saying goes...in theory there is no difference between reality and theory...in reality there is.

in the mid eighties I used to do a personal time trial several times per week. It was 12.5 miles each way for a total of twenty five. It had a mix of flats and ups and down grades. At the time I had access to two time trial oriented bikes and rode them both regularly.

the fastest I ever went on the course was on a bike theoretically too big for me and equipped with tires most at the time, would argue were too big to be utilized on a time trial bike.

food for thought.

An Italian and an Asian walk into a bar. The bartender says, "what'll you have, boys?". Italian asks for a Sambuca, chilled. The Asian asks for a draft beer, but is handed a Tsingtao. He responds, "hey, this isn't what I ordered!" The parrot on the bartender's shoulder says, "that's nothing! The bad news is that neither frame actually fits you."

Phil_gretz You and I were on the same wavelength...

An Italian and a Japanese walk into a noodle bar. The Italian man says, "I'll have the primo!" (appetizer) He gets one spoonful of noodles in a tiny bowl. The Japanese man sees the small amount of noodles in the bowl and says, "I'll have the main course noodle." He gets one spoonful of noodles in a very large bowl. Both men like the noodles, but walk out unsatisfied.

Also, how long is the seat post on the Colner? Make sure it's not above the limit line.

Shouldn't it be a European and an Asian?
Italian is so specific and Asian could be one of many countries. Or maybe an Italian and a Japanese? (If focus is japanese).
